A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking for a Research Officer to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.
About the programme
The programme is a collaborative initiative aimed at developing vaccines to mitigate the impacts of marine fish pathogens and promote sustainable aquaculture in Singapore.
Job Description:
- Conduct laboratory experiments in vaccine testing and perform data analysis for research or industry collaboration projects.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, veterinarians, and aquaculture specialists.
- Work with fish models (both in vitro and in vivo) of infectious diseases.
- Perform meticulous recordkeeping and effectively communicate findings to the team, research collaborators and industry partners.
- Perform maintenance of inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables.
- Ensure adherence to safe technical practices and procedures.
- Providing guidance and training to students and interns on laboratory techniques and protocols.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor′s degree in Biological Sciences, Infectious Diseases, Immunology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Marine Biology or related field.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong background in Immunology, Marine biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics.
- Experience in cell culture, fish handling, sample collection and processing, flow cytometry, and cellular and molecular techniques.
- Experience in industry project management.
- Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in spoken and written communication.
