Astek has an opening of a T&C Engineer role for one of our project based in Singapore.
Summary:
The Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing the testing and commissioning of Electrification Projects within the rail infrastructure sector. This role ensures that all testing activities are executed according to defined standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination: Work closely with team members, internal departments, clients, and contractors to organize and execute site testing activities. Attend relevant meetings to ensure track access and compliance with testing standards.
- Commissioning: Lead the commissioning process, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Pre-Stage Acceptance Testing (PRE-SAT), Stage Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Site Integration Testing (SIT), through to the final handover and operational start.
- Documentation: Support the manager in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and work plans. Develop and maintain a system to track project progress and provide feedback to project planners.
- Supervision: Oversee installation activities and assist the team in carrying out site installations. Support the manager with scheduling and any additional project-related tasks.
- Flexibility: Be prepared to work extended hours, including nights and public holidays, as needed. Make decisions and support other teams as required.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Electrification Projects.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with high voltage and secondary voltage testing equipment, PLC systems (Siemens, Mitsubishi), and knowledge of Siemens or Mistubishi electrification solutions.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ability to review and update drawings, specifications, and test reports (FAT, SAT).
- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety practices related to high, medium, and low voltage systems and traction power systems in a railway environment.
- Communication and Coordination: Ability to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders and manage site activities.
- Project Management: Experience in preparing detailed method statements and work plans, and developing systems to monitor project progress.
