Associate - Risk Management and Compliance

Role Summary:

The Risk Management and Compliance Associate is a role supporting the investment management efforts for Greystar. This role requires the development of collaborative relationships with the senior leadership team, investment teams, legal team, investors, and regulators with the aim of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements with a particular focus on ESG.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist with application and compliance with on-going requirements for a Singapore CMS License
  • Implement and administer compliance and ESG related policies and procedures
  • Conduct client due diligence for on boarding new clients, screening vendors and other third parties
  • Manage and address compliance escalations from the business
  • Engage with stakeholders with regards to compliance and ESG matters
  • Carry out compliance monitoring program to ensure that the business is conducted in accordance with Greystar policies and procedures
  • Work and communicate with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders on any compliance and ESG related matters
  • Prepare regular compliance and ESG reporting matters including coordinating with other key stakeholders for collection of data points for GRESB reporting
  • Ad hoc duties/projects as assigned by management

Organisational Responsibilities:

  • Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).
  • Identifies areas for improvement, offers suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity, and implements ideas that achieve operational excellence.
  • Keeps abreast of current changes in regulatory requirements and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classes, research and/or subscribing to the internet or other professional publications or utilising other appropriate method(s) to obtain business and professional information and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in a compliance function in a regulated environment (preferably CMS regulated)
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements of the MAS

Experience and Skills:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent management and leadership skills to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Hands-on entrepreneurial mindset
