Nurse Educator

Job Scope:

As a Nurse Educator, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing educational programs and initiatives to enhance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of our nursing staff. Your primary objective will be to provide ongoing education, training, and professional development opportunities that align with best practices and regulatory requirements. By equipping our nursing staff with the necessary tools and knowledge, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to our residents and ensure a culture of continuous learning and growth within the organization.


Duties & Responsibilities:

· Training Program Development: Develop and design comprehensive training programs, workshops, and educational materials tailored to the specific needs of our nursing staff, incorporating best practices, evidence-based guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

· Orientation and Onboarding: Coordinate and deliver orientation programs for new nursing staff members, ensuring they are introduced to the nursing home's policies, procedures, and quality standards. Provide ongoing support and mentorship during the onboarding process.

· Continuing Education: Identify learning needs and gaps among nursing staff and develop strategies to address them through continuing education programs. Stay updated with advancements in nursing practices and disseminate relevant information to staff through workshops, seminars, and online resources.

· Clinical Skills Development: Assess and enhance the clinical skills and competencies of nursing staff through skills training, simulation exercises, and hands-on workshops. Provide guidance and support in areas such as medication administration, wound care, infection control, and emergency response.

· Quality Improvement: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to identify opportunities for improvement in nursing practices and develop educational initiatives to address them. Analyze performance data, implement evidence- based practices, and monitor outcomes to ensure continuous quality improvement.

· Preceptorship and Mentorship: Develop and oversee preceptorship and mentorship programs for new and junior nursing staff, pairing them with experienced nurses to facilitate skill development knowledge transfer and professional growth.

· Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with federal, state, and local regulations related to nursing education and ensure that the nursing home's educational programs are in compliance. Monitor and document staff training records to demonstrate compliance during audits and inspections.

· Collaborative Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with external educational institutions, professional organizations, and industry experts to leverage resources, facilitate guest lectures, and promote collaboration for ongoing professional development opportunities for nursing staff.

· Evaluation and Feedback: Develop evaluation methods and tools to assess the effectiveness of educational programs and solicit feedback from nursing staff. Analyze results and make necessary adjustments to enhance program outcomes.

· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of educational activities, training attendance, and staff certifications. Prepare reports on training initiatives, outcomes, and compliance for management and regulatory bodies as required.


Requirement & Qualifications:

· Minimum Bachelor Degree in any discipline, preferably in Health care 10 years relevant working experience.

· Registered Nurse (RN) licensure from SNB


· Proven experience in nursing education, staff development, or training in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing home or long-term care facility.

· Strong knowledge of nursing principles, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

· Excellent teaching and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex medical concepts to diverse audiences.

· Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and implementing educational programs.

· Ability to assess educational needs, develop learning objectives, and design appropriate interventions.

· Proficiency in using educational technologies, multimedia tools, and learning management systems.

· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.

· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Be prepared to perform other duties as assigned


Work Location: West Coast

Work Hours: 8am to 5:30pm ((5/5.5 days / 44 hours a week)

Must have at least 10 years prior experience working in a similar capacity in Singapore.
