Client Solutions Manager

The Role (6 months contract)


The role holder will be responsible for supporting the AVP, Client Solutions, Protection, Asia for all external activities related to India. You will utilize your network in the market to introduce PL Re to clients with the aim of developing long-term partnership relationships with key PL Re members.


You will support the AVP by coordinating all client visits, regularly meeting clients to discuss their requirements, promote PL Re propositions, and support product development initiatives. You will also support the MVP, Protection, Asia with the development and execution of our branding strategy.


Where necessary, you will support the AVP with internal tasks including communications with key stakeholders and provide training on Indian insurance industry. This includes building internal teams’ understanding of products, risks, sales practises, distribution, business practises (underwriting and claims), regulatory landscape, and other relevant information.

You will also support the AVP, Client Solutions, Protection, Asia to manage the delivery of all reinsurance quotes, and propositions to clients. You will have good working knowledge on clients’ requirements, internal policies, internal processes, and market trends. You will perform triage and technical analysis of quotes or product initiatives with Pricing, Underwriting, and Risk teams and share your knowledge of the market.


Duties


1. Utilize existing network in India to support the AVP, Client Solutions, Protection, Asia and MVP, Protection, Asia in developing long-term partnership relationships with clients’ Reinsurance, Pricing, UWC, and Product Development teams to promote Pacific Life Re. This includes:

a. Regularly meet face-to-face with clients to understand their reinsurance needs and present PL Re’s propositions. This will include regular travel to India.

b. To be the contact person for assigned clients and in the absence of the AVP, Client Solutions, Protection, Asia, for all clients.

c. Support with development of external presentation materials.

d. Support development of strategy for India.

2. Work with internal stakeholders in assessing quotes and client requests from technical perspective. This includes:

a. Manage assigned quotes for India, i.e. manage timelines, stakeholders, deliverables, perform triage, and communication with clients. Coordinate internal resources to ensure we have a multi-level client contact strategy.

b. Review information provided for quotations, including product spec, reinsurance arrangement, underwriting process, etc.

c. Support the AVP, Client Solutions, Protection, Asia with the risk assessment and triage to ensure compliance with internal risk policies and identify next steps to proceed with quotation.

3. Work closely with Pricing, Underwriting, Risk, and other teams. This includes:

a. Support with training on market, benchmarking products, population statistics, inforce portfolio analysis, regulatory requirements, etc. when required. This may include ad-hoc late night calls.

b. Support treaties and addendums review.

c. Support ad-hoc projects as and when required.


Qualifications & Experience

– Possess recent business development experience in India with strong network and deep market knowledge of life insurance industry including competitive and regulatory landscape

– An actuary with at least 8 years of working experience, with Pricing experience and able to solve complex problems.

– Strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgement and commercial awareness, to produce justifiable and practical innovative technical advice even where information is sparse or not available

– Strong understanding of risk, able to call out, and address risk issues promptly

– Strong commercial skills with the ability to reasonably balance the needs of customers and the company in the context of decision making and company strategy / business plans

– Professional image with strong relationship management skills, able to work with people of all levels and to operate independently

– The ability to communicate to technical and complex matters clearly and concisely to people from all backgrounds; both internal and external

– Strong presentation skills, with demonstrable experience of presenting technical subject matter to non-technical stakeholders (both internally and externally)
