Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the full suite of M&E Quantity Surveyor duties, from tender to post contract administration duties such as: review of contracts, quantity take-offs, preparing bills of quantities, sourcing and selecting of subcontractors, particularly for M&E disciplines and the following scope of works:
- Analyse tender/project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for all MEP components.
- Assist in the tendering process by evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers for MEP works.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
- Administer contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, including reviewing terms and conditions, variations, and claims.
- Assess the value of completed MEP works and prepare interim and final valuations for payment purposes.
- Manage variations and changes to the scope of MEP works, assessing their impact on project costs.
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with MEP works and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on risk factors that may affect project costs.
Requirements:
• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying / Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of work experience as an M&E QS.
• Exposure in QS construction or consultancy work environment
• Proficient technical knowledge - measurement, cost estimating, construction technology, contracts and law
• Understand and be competent with professional practice and contract administration processes
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
