Company Overview:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Data Protection Officer to join their prestigious law firm in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the firm’s data protection strategies and policies, ensuring compliance with local and international data protection laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the primary contact point for the organisation’s data protection matters
- Develop and implement:
i) Policies and practices necessary for PDPA compliance
ii) Data breach management plan to manage data breaches
iii) Process to receive and respond to public complaints/concerns with the organisation’s data protection policies and practices - Provide staff training on organisation’s policies and practices
- Make information on data protection policies, practices and complaint process available on request
Requirements:
- With a least 5 relevant years of experiences in data protection or privacy role, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection laws, regulations, and best practices, including the PDPA and GDPR.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and provide clear, actionable advice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and deliver training effectively.
- High level of integrity and discretion, with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information.
