Senior Manager, Engineering and Sustainability

Responsibilities:

  • Create and communicate a strong mission for the E+M department that is integrated with the goals and vision of the Tuas which includes maintaining a reliable manufacturing process that results in a safe working environment, High quality product, lowest unit costs, high equipment performance all while demonstrating commitment to Reckitt’s vision.
  • Lead & drive site sustainability into medium- and longer-term site business plans, supporting site’s other functions via the coordination of Glidepath and CAPEX for new engineering-led solutions to improving environmental performance. Identify, plan and implement cost-efficient, new engineering-based solutions to achieve environmental targets.
  • Lead in the development and delivery of environmental solutions and performance.
  • Ensure the compliance of both local legislation and Reckitt Environmental Standard in Sustainability.
  • Translate strategies into operational goals and objectives, identifies necessary resources (people and capital) and leads the E+M department towards world class operations and ensures high availability of equipment and plant facilities.
  • Create a high performance, externally focused operating culture throughout the organization which emphasizes the customer, teamwork, personal accountability, and a winning attitude. Be a role model on the desired behaviours personally.
  • Build and maintain strong relationship inside and outside of the organization. Think ahead ways to develop superior competitive tactics to support growth and productivity priorities.
  • Lead the culture on high levels of compliance in terms of equipment maintenance plans, calibration and food safety related equipment and processes. Understand the link between a strong maintenance & reliability practice and how it impacts food safety and product quality.
  • Develop responsible leaders at all levels and high output teams. Guide the leadership development process ensuring ongoing succession for key position. Applycoaching methodology to develop the team within E+M Dept.
  • Manage the site Capital Spend. Implement process that unitizes a broad range of criteria for prioritizing capital spending, e.g. cost, tax implications, initial investment, and resources available.
  • Lead adequate change in the organization to continuously adapt to a dynamic business environment. Learn from experience, reflect upon experiences, integrate and apply learning to enhance organizational performance.
  • Drive the use of technology in engineering, maintenance and reliability engineering. Integrate best practices through focus on external competitors and other industries.
  • Build and maintain good relationships inside and outside organization. Provide community interface on strategic areas that affect communities Reckitt operates in and projects the company’s views to foster good relations with local, national and regulatory agencies.
  • Foster individual development by identifying and arranging appropriate assignments, formal training or other experiences. Prepare others to assume new or increased responsibilities in the future.
  • As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, understand the importance of wining as team while demonstrating high levels of personal leadership, self-confidence and effective decision-making capabilities based on collective gain for the site and business.
  • Support activities that will improve supply chain performance and reduce cost.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering / maintenance experience in food / pharmaceutical industry with at least 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in the negotiations and structures of contracts and major agreements.
  • Experience in Automation systems, SCADA, PLC would be advantageous.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects ($200 K - $50 MM).
  • Experienced in project organization development and workforce management.
  • Exposure and understanding on local industry law and regulations.
  • Experience in reliability maintenance strategies.
  • Experience in factory safety management GMP, ISO 14001, ISO 18000, OSHA standard and familiar with safety, health and environmental laws and regulation.
  • Prior experience/responsibility for a major profit/loss center with capital expense and the criteria selection and prioritization of spending.
