OVERVIEW:

Technical GM Staff drives production process / product / plant improvement continuously in Asahi Kasei Synthetic Rubber Singapore (AKSS).

Technical GM Staff leads process engineering field for improvement of process safety, occupational safety, product quality, product safety, process productivity, sustainability, digitalization, and cost optimization.

Technical GM Staff is expected to provide technical support to Operation / Plant / Business Administration members, and to collaborate with Asahi Kasei Corp. in Japan as liaison function.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Realize smooth communication between the top management of parent company (Asahi Kasei Corporation; AKC) and AKSS management / employees, to achieve accurate management decisions. Act as an intermediary between AKC and AKSS employees by sharing critical information beyond the language barrier.

2. Accurate reporting of AKSS production and technical topics to parent company.

- Monthly management report to AKC Top management (in Japanese)

- AKC Japan budget briefing documentation (in Japanese)

3. Coordinate and support cross-functional activities between AKC and AKSS related production and technical matter.

4. Liaison with AKC S-SBR production sites and R&D dept. in Japan for technical advice in production field, especially supporting language barrier for AKSS employees.

5. Draft process improvement idea with the objectives to improve process safety / occupational safety, improve product safety / quality, reduce energy consumption, improve production capacity / productivity, and reduce cost.

6. Evaluate process performance and key process parameters from long term view and periodically to uncover potential risk that may leads to plant instability, safety or quality issues.

7. Implement process improvement idea via Management of Change system (MOC) and/or Non-regular Work system (NRW).

8. Coordinate and plan new grade trial production with R&D and Operation team.

9. Troubleshoot plant trouble related to process, perform root cause analysis and propose corrective and preventive measures as Process engineering function.

10. Oversee process related Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) project from conceptual design up to Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and lead the project assigned by division / department manager.

11. Study and implement Industry 4.0 related technologies as part of productivity improvement and process improvement projects.

12. Collaborates with other departments in Management systems of AKSS such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, SS651, IATF16949, Safety Case, Energy management, and ISCC plus as Process engineering function.

13. Participate actively in HAZOP, FMEA, and Control Plan studies for safety and quality improvement as Process engineering function.

14. Participate in Company EHSQ program and cooperate with its promotion and improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Master or PhD Doctor Degree in Engineering field.

2. More than 5 years working experience in Synthetic Rubber manufacturing plant.

3. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PPT)

4. Familiarity with IATF 16949 standard.

5. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO45001, and SS651.

6. Familiarity with Process Simulation software such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS.

7. Familiarity with Distributed Control System (DCS) logic and sequence modification.

8. Familiarity with Digital Transformation (DX) system implementation.

9. Well-developed critical thinking and organizational skills.

10. Possess good communication skill and interpersonal skills.

11. Able to multi-tasks and handle a wide spectrum of responsibilities under pressure.

13. Fluent in Business Japanese language (Preferably N1, at least N2 level of JLPT).
