Role Overview
We are embarking on the implementation of the S/4HANA system and are seeking a Project Management Specialist to lead our business transformation initiatives. This role is crucial for standardizing, harmonizing, and streamlining business processes during the S/4HANA implementation. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to influence and articulate ideas across various organizational levels. They should be pragmatic, empathetic to user challenges, and skilled in breaking down functional silos to drive end-to-end process improvements. Proficiency in Chinese is required due to working with China and Taiwan, and the role will involve significant international travel (over 30%) based on project needs. This Business Project Management role will also oversee aspects such as authorization controls and data migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the S/4HANA Project Program Director, PMO, members, vendors, business and IT teams, senior management sponsors, and executives.
- Manage complex, global projects, leading teams in the design, development, and delivery of technology and business solutions, including S/4HANA and ECC systems.
- Develop project schedules, communication plans, manage risks/issues, and report on results.
- Oversee authorization controls and data migration processes to ensure smooth implementation.
- Resolve issues creatively and deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with corporate objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and issue resolutions for successful project execution.
- Interface with all areas impacted by the project, including key users, cross-functional departments, external consultants, and stakeholders.
- Lead project team members across multiple countries and work with the global PMO to adhere to the industry’s project delivery methodology.
- Support the global PMO in enhancing project management capabilities within the organization.
- Educate business users on industry best practices and address daily operational challenges.
- Review and approve new business processes in alignment with organizational culture and requirements.
- Challenge existing processes with pragmatic and efficient solutions.
- Monitor and measure the performance, effectiveness, and efficiency of core business processes.
- Identify, document, and test new business scenarios and lead successful project implementations with high stakeholder satisfaction.
- Achieve business benefits through effective project management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain management, information systems, or information technology, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in business or IT consulting, with experience in at least 3 full cycles of SAP ECC or S/4HANA project management.
- Proven experience in managing business transformational IT projects, particularly SAP ERP implementations.
- Skilled in change management across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Chinese is required.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to articulate complex issues and solutions.
- Experience in managing authorization controls and data migration processes.
- Proficiency in comparing as-is and to-be processes to identify gaps and additional needs.
- Ability to prioritize changes based on value, impact, and risks.
- Flexibility to adapt short-term solutions into long-term processes.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with multiple functional teams.
- Capability to work in a dynamic, technically challenging environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
