Penfolds Commercial Graduate

Treasury Wine Estates Asia (sea) Pte. Ltd.

The primary purpose of this role is to experience a well-round immerision into our commercial teams to deliver on key tasks and assist on projects that will support the execution of our Penfolds business growth plans. As part of this graduate role you will experience three (3) rotation experiences over 18 months. This role will:

  • support the business and acquire significant knowledge on commercial business functions across Global Sales; Global Marketing and Global Finance & Strategy;
  • share insights, ideas and perspectives to improve our consumer experiences and ways of working; and
  • actively participate in our training programs covering additional hands-on experience that will provide a strong foundation for your career development.

Rotation 1

Sales responsibilities:


1. Product Knowledge/Activation

· Understanding the Penfolds brand and how to effectively communicate benefits to customers

· Review activation and depletion reports

· Provide insights on the depletion of the brands by key customers

· Understanding ROI, best-in-class activation and conduct post review

2. Distribution

· Understanding the different channels in the wine universe

· Understanding and work on the distribution plan for East Malaysia

· Work on a path to distribution and promotional calendar of activities

· Utilise shopper insights where relevant to drive category captaincy

3. Competitors’ Analysis

· Gather and input competitor intelligence.

· Pricing analysis of competitors’ products and ensure that we have the right positioning in the market for our brands


Rotation 2

Marketing responsibilities:


1. Brand Management & Consumer Awareness Campaign

  • Support the Senior Brand Manager to develop and execute online & offline marketing campaigns, build innovative plans to recruit new consumers and maintain high level of engagements.
  • Work with the Senior Brand Manager and media agency to execute paid media & social strategies to drive quality consumer reach and engagements. Plan relevant assets & innovative content to enhance consumer engagements and experiences with the brand.
  • Take ownership of the coordination & executions of the marketing plans & events, work with key stakeholders and external partners where necessary.
  • Leverage consumer, shopper, and commercial insights to enhance brand executions and through-the-line campaign development. Work with the Brand Manager and Insights Manager (1) to identify consumer trends and translate key findings into proposed action plans (2) analyse the competitiveenvironment & competition performance and provide recommendations for Penfolds
  • Assist in development & delivery of brand presentations to internal & external stakeholders. This includes brand plans or other necessary brand reviews with the global & leadership teams, joint business planning or business updates with key distributors, retail & trade partners etc.

2. PR & Communications Campaign

  • Support Senior PR Manager for media and influencers campaign, from planning and concept development through to executions. This includes media and influencers event planning and executions.
  • Coordinate responses to enquiries, manage samples and deliverables with PR agencies, partner publications and key influencers.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to meet project timelines.

3. Product Innovations / New Product Developments

  • Support NPD projects: plan, launch and introduce new products into the markets.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders on launch & distribution plans to ensure the key deliverables in the regional markets are met (1) Global NPD & Supply teams for timely deployment (2) Commercial teams for volumes forecast & distribution (3) Regional Brand Marketing, PR and Customer Marketing teams for launch and go-to-market plans.
  • Preparation of product sell-in sheets to support Commercial & Customer Marketing teams’ distribution & depletion plans.

Rotation 3

Commercial Strategy responsibilities:


1. Demand Planning

  • Preparation and delivery of volume forecast files ahead of demand planning meetings
  • Management of allocations within Developed Markets BU
  • Analysis of demand forecast outputs using links to depletion data to generate insights

2. Business Analytics

  • Assist in collecting, cleansing and compiling deletion data from distributors
  • Reporting and analysis on depletions and inventory on hand
  • Forward looking insights from depletion and inventory reports to drive future demand forecasts
