Job Description: Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing and maintaining a diverse range of enterprise-level technologies, including Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Linux systems, blade servers, storage appliances, and Windows Server-based application servers. This role also includes providing occasional desktop support to ensure smooth operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Microsoft 365 and Exchange Management:Plan and execute migrations from on-premises systems to Microsoft 365
   Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams
   Manage email routing, security, and compliance in hybrid and cloud environments.
   Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
   
2. Active Directory and Azure AD Administration:Manage and maintain on-premises Active Directory and Azure AD infrastructure.
   Implement and enforce Group Policies and Conditional Access policies.
   Handle user account management, security groups, and permissions
   Ensure seamless integration between on-premises AD and Azure AD
   
3. Windows Server and Application Management:Manage and maintain Windows Server-based application servers.
   Coordinate with vendors for application support, updates, and troubleshooting
   Ensure proper integration of vendor-supported applications with existing infrastructure.
   Perform regular maintenance, patching, and updates on Windows Servers
   Monitor application performance and resolve issues in collaboration with vendors.
   
4. Virtualization with Hyper-V:Design, implement, and manage Hyper-V virtual environments.
   Perform virtual machine deployments, migrations, and optimizations.
   Monitor and troubleshoot virtual infrastructure performance.
   
5. Linux System Administration:Manage and maintain Linux servers and services.
   Implement security best practices and updates.
   Troubleshoot Linux-related issues and optimize system performance.
   
6. Blade Server Management:Administer and maintain blade server infrastructure.
   Perform hardware upgrades and replacements as needed.
   Monitor server health and performance.
   
7. Storage Appliance Administration:.Manage and maintain enterprise storage solutions.
   Implement storage best practices, including RAID configurations.
   Monitor storage capacity and performance, planning for future needs.
   
8. Desktop Support:Provide occasional desktop support for complex issues or VIP users.
   Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
   Support remote and on-site users as needed.
   Contribute to the development and maintenance of desktop support documentation.
   
9. General IT Duties:Participate in on-call rotation for emergency support.
   Document systems, processes, and procedures
   Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration of services.
   Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
   

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in system administration roles
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite, including migration planning and execution
• Experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams administration
• Proficiency in managing hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of on-premises Exchange Server and Active Directory
• Extensive experience managing Windows Server environments and server applications.
• Proven ability to work effectively with software vendors for application support and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Hyper-V virtualization technologies
• Linux administration skills (Red Hat, Ubuntu, or similar distributions)
• Experience with blade server technologies (e.g., HP, Dell, or Cisco UCS)
• Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, EMC, or similar)
• Strong desktop support skills and experience with Windows client operating systems
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, MCSE, RHCE, VCP) are preferred
• Strong project management skills, particularly in migration scenarios and vendor management
