Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Architect for a 12-month contract with our client, a prominent American multinational technology company.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, architecting, and evolving infrastructure and data models to support the Enterprise Engineering Operations services. This position involves close collaboration with global internal stakeholders and data engineering teams to develop and maintain optimal data warehouse solutions and data marts. The Data Architect will also be responsible for implementing robust data integrity and quality processes across ETL and database designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data analysts to deliver high-quality dashboards, reports, and analyses on time.
- Design, optimize, and maintain best practice data warehouse solutions and data models for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Develop and maintain standardized schema and data definitions across the organization.
- Implement automated data quality management processes to ensure data integrity and reliability.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data sources and artifacts to support self-service capabilities across the organization.
- Build and enforce processes for data retention and lifecycle management.
- Partner with Data Engineering and cross-functional teams to develop core datasets for operational and exploratory analysis.
- Work with business teams to analyze and document structural requirements for new systems and applications, designing conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts.
- Establish best practice data governance to foster a data-informed organization.
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems, advancing the organization's data maturity.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the data warehouse through regular testing, troubleshooting, and the integration of new features.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- With 5-8 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Presto, Hive, and Spark.
- Strong understanding of database structure principles, data mining, and ETL processes.
- Expertise in data architecture, data modeling, schema design, and effective data management.
- Proven experience in querying and working with large datasets.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience collaborating with business and product teams.
- Experience in gathering and analyzing system requirements.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or equivalent).
