This role is ideal for a data expert who is passionate about creating scalable solutions and designing enterprise data models that enhance business applications, reporting, and analytics. As the Data and BI Architect, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including the Enterprise Architect, BI Analysts, and Application and Data owners, to manage global data design and modeling. Your work will be critical in establishing robust data dictionaries, integration documentation, migration plans, and managing master and reference data landscapes within our existing and future architecture.
In this role, your technical expertise will be complemented by your project management skills, driving the success of data-related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Flow Governance: Catalog and manage data objects and interfaces.
- Data Modeling: Develop and maintain master data and reference data models.
- Data Warehousing & Integration: Design and oversee the integration of data warehouses.
- Migration Planning: Create and manage data migration plans and mapping.
- BI & Analytics Architecture: Design and deliver modern BI and analytics solutions.
- Data Flow Accountability: Ensure seamless data flow through various systems, including ERP and other platforms.
- Target Data Architecture: Design scalable environments with well-defined data catalogs, procedures, and standards.
- Business Process Translation: Translate business processes into scalable, physical data models.
- Platform Capabilities: Define data platform capabilities to align with business transformation activities.
- Data Integration Oversight: Manage the integration of large datasets, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Degree in IT, MIS, Data Science, or related field; Certifications in Data Architecture or Data Engineering are a plus.
- Experience: 6 + years in data architecture or a related field, with a broad understanding of data environments, BI technologies, ETL processes, and data visualization tools such as SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, PowerBI, and MDM.
- Cloud Expertise: Experience with MS Azure data components, such as Data Factory and Azure Data Lake, and delivering end-to-end cloud data platform solutions.
- Project Involvement: Hands-on experience with at least one major data modernization project or participation in a significant data transformation initiative within an enterprise.
- Methodology: Familiarity with agile and DevOps methodologies, data pipelines, serverless orchestration, and CI/CD processes.
- Governance & Security: Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation, influencing, and customer-facing skills.
- Leadership & Training: Capacity to train and guide team members on best practices and data literacy.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in managing third-party vendors and leading engagements in a matrix environment.
