Job Scope:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Build Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of complex enterprise systems. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in software development, project management, and team leadership to drive the successful implementation of critical projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and end-users to analyze, plan, and execute the deployment of new features and requirements. Your technical guidance will be essential in maintaining the robustness, quality, and continuous availability of these systems. Additionally, you will lead and coordinate an offshore development team, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication across geographical boundaries. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple critical systems, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality deliverables, and managing maintenance issues in strict compliance with service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team across geographical boundaries, ensuring tasks are assigned effectively and deliverables are met.
- Interact effectively with team members and users at all levels.
- Oversee maintenance issues, investigate, and resolve them while ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
- Support day-to-day operations, including logging and tracking customer-raised issues.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure that all fixes are verified before deployment to production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently or in collaboration with the offshore development team.
- Perform assessments of software requirements, collaborate with cross-functional teams and users for clarification, and breakdown tasks for the team.
- Perform impact analysis, feasibility studies, analyze, design, development, unit testing, system integration testing, and pre-user acceptance testing verification of service requests and defect fixes.
- Execute onsite work for projects, including code merge, deployment, auditing, addressing security issues, and troubleshooting technical challenges.
- Create and update relevant documentation for all executed work in a timely manner.
- Ensure the timely and quality delivery of assigned work, meeting set expectations.
Job Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience as a Build Lead, overseeing complex enterprise systems and managing onshore and offshore team members.
- At least 5 years of hands-on professional coding experience, specifically in handling support and production issues.
- Must have at least 2 years of project experience in Singapore Government space.
- Expertise in Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies.
- Proficient in test-driven development and object-oriented design and programming.
- Excellent command of programming languages and frameworks, including Java (standard and enterprise edition), Struts 2, Spring Core, iBatis, JUnit, Log4j, JSP, JavaScript, Dojo, AJAX, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, PL/SQL, PHP, and C.
- Skilled in design, prototyping, and creation of detailed design documentation using modeling languages such as UML.
- Working experience with JIRA for documentation and tracking of issues.
- Experienced with testing tools such as JMeter.
- Versatile with development environments and tools, including MyEclipse IDE, SpringSource Toolsuite, SQL Developer, Maven, and Tortoise SVN.
- Excellent knowledge of operating systems including Microsoft Windows and UNIX/Linux.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle and MySQL databases systems.
- Understanding of distributed systems and AWS cloud technologies.
- Development experience with web servers such Apache Tomcat.
- Experienced with content management systems like JOOMLA.
- Ability to develop and maintain clear and timely documentation throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing project requirements.
- CCNA certifications (e.g., CCNA1 and CCNA2) are a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
