Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable WSH Officer to ensure the highest standards of safety and health practices within our construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and programs, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify health and safety hazards and assess compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement workplace safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with legal requirements and company standards.
- Provide training and support to employees on safety regulations, procedures, and emergency preparedness.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices in workplace safety and health.
- Facilitate and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training sessions.
- Assist in the development of risk assessments and safe work procedures for construction activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting of safety-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health or a related field.
- Certified WSH Officer or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in workplace safety and health in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of local safety regulations, policies, and standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
