The incumbent will undertake clinical research at the Cataract Group at SERI, related to the collection and organization of clinical and research data in refractive surgery research. You will assist the Director, Investigators and Consultants in the successful execution of research projects at the Singapore Eye Research Institute.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct and coordinate translational research in cataract and refractive surgery within SERI/SNEC in line with its research strategy, including PI-initiated studies and industry sponsored clinical trials
- Assist in management of these research projects, which includes supervising post-doctoral research assistants, research students, technical and other support staff
- Co-ordinate and ensure smooth running of the study at the study site/s
- Publish research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing and to publish and disseminate the result of research and scholarship in other reputable outlets
- Attend and present research findings and papers at academic and professional conferences, and to contribute to the external visibility of the department
- Help draft research reports for the Director, Principal Investigators
- Undertake such specific roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the Director, Principal Investigators
- Attend meetings and to participate (where necessary) in other committees and working groups within SERI/SNEC
- Ensure compliance with health and safety in all aspects of work
- Assist the Principal Investigators with grant applications
- Any other duties as assigned by the Director, Principal Investigators
- Review and counsel patients on the disease
- Assist Principal Investigators in recruitment of subjects, conduct Informed Consent and eligibility checks
Job Requirements:
- MMed (Ophthalmology), FRCS or its equivalent and would have completed 2 years of advance training rotations in general ophthalmology
- Team player and possess good interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous and high attention to details.
- Demonstrate initiative and problem solving
- Able to multi task and work independently
- Strong interpersonal, time management and communication skills in both verbal and written
