Responsibilities
The role involves overseeing the commercial operations related to the loading, discharge, transport, and payment of LNG cargoes, ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with HSSE and operating standards. This includes coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure structured cargo operations, managing payments and calculations, and working closely with traders to implement and maximize trading strategies. The position also requires collaboration with the shipping team to manage cargo surveyors and ensure compliance with client shipping policies. Additional responsibilities include providing market research and analytics to traders, supporting contract reviews and deal negotiations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth coordination with terminals for product movement. The role demands the ability to manage operational aspects of shipping LNG, both for long-term and spot contracts, and to be available outside normal work hours to address time-critical issues. Identifying and executing optimization opportunities to create value is also key, along with participating in the training and knowledge transfer within the team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least 2-3 years of experience in operations related to the trading, sales, and purchase of commodities, particularly in the LNG, oil, gas, or other commodity markets. Experience in LNG operations within a global LNG business or the broader energy or commodity trading industry is essential. A strong understanding of the LNG business value chain, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with trading systems are critical. The candidate should demonstrate excellent teamwork, with a focus on action, accountability, and developing solutions. Being meticulous, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing environments is also important.
