Mechanical Layout Engineer (Tuas)

Responsibilities

  • Generates drawing list (i.e. handling register list and etc) to establish project deliverables through the sourcing and compilation of engineering information for the EPCC project
  • Designs marine equipment layout within the hull based on client’s requirements, classification, overall general arrangement, P&ID and vendor delivered documents.
  • Builds equipment model in 3D software (e.g. AVEVA, CADMETIC or SmartPlant) by keying correct attribute and identifies mistake found in equipment model provided by vendor. Prepare 2D layout using AutoCAD with all necessary drawing information (i.e. plan view, section view, maintenance space, escape route, platform etc)
  • Conducts 3D review at different design stage and identify mistakes and clashes from the 3D model. Provides solution and clear punches from the 3D review.
  • Coordinates with other engineering team members (i.e.yard engineering, basic design and etc.), subcontractors and consultants on technical issues and design solutions in meeting project deliverables
  • Performs vessel site visit/ inspection when it is required.
  • Participates in project meeting, attend to basic technical queries and issues related to mechanical design and reviews the deliverables (i.e. layout and etc etc)
  • Liaises with owners, statutory and classification authorities for design compliance review and approval on the proposed project plans in meeting project requirements
  • Generates reports on work progress and submits to senior team members for review and approval before submitting to owners, statutory and classification authorities for approval and maintains project database for future references
  • Performs technical studies in cooperation with various engineering disciplines to develop hull equipment layout
  • Prepares detailed material handling design based on equipment GA, operation and maintenance manual
  • Provides updates to commercial, production and project team members on all aspects of mechanical engineering to support yard’s machineries’ fabrication and installation activities
  • Works with other engineering team members as required to achieve functional objectives and deadlines
  • Provides support in various engineering projects as required to promote cross-functional learning and development, balance team workload and enhance overall team productivity
  • Incorporates HSEQ work cultures and best practices to ensure the successful implementation of HSEQ management systems
  • Maintains and executes HSEQ procedures, policies and programmes and drives continuous improvement through risk-based thinking and analysis
  • Supports the conduct of HSEQ management system audits to ensure compliance with legislations and company policies

Requirements

  • Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or related engineering disciplines
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in planning, designing and construction of mechanical design in the oil and gas industry
  • Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, AVEVA, CADMETIC, SmartPlant, Naviswork and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Able to understand marine process P&ID and system design requirement
  • Possesses understanding of various marine equipment operation and manintenace requirement (i.e. space required for operation and maintenance)
  • Possesses basic knowledge of pipe routing requirements based on P&ID and piping specification
  • Possesses basic knowledge of technical safety requirement (i.e. safety gap, escape route, hazardous plan, fixed fire fighting etc)

  • Tuas, Singapore
  • Islandwide transport provided at employees cost
  • Mon-Thu: 7.30am – 5.15pm Fri: 7.30am – 4.15pm
