Sales Manager

Mission/purpose of the Job:

  • Generate truck sales for both of UD & Volvo trucks and increase market share within Singapore market
  • Build and strengthen customer relationships with existing and new / conquest customers
  • Contribute to increase commercial turnover & profit and market share
  • To drive the sales team towards No. 1 in customer satisfaction level for both brand and position our brands as premium product with high service quality
  • Drive and align entire sales & support team towards our company objective of becomes market leader for both brand within next 3 years
  • Provide timely product support to the sales team and key contact personnel to factory related to product support


Key responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for complete TSP process
  • Accountable for monthly / annually department spent within budget
  • Establish close collaboration with marketing in developing and grow market share
  • Synergize with aftersales and service workshop team to increase service penetration rate
  • Accountable and monitor sales and warranty commitments / provisions
  • Ensure all sales executives adopt Salesforce way of working
  • Encourage sales team to adopt commercial crew of working
  • Responsible to monitor all sales team to make use Salesforce diligently
  • Execute daily sales activities including generating new leads and sales
  • Plan & execute tactical sales plan
  • Generate new contacts & businesses
  • Explore new ideas & business opportunities
  • Manage and maintain existing key accounts
  • Provide product and engineering solutions
  • Responsible for department account receivable & other department matters
  • Analyze the market (potential and existing customers, competition activities)
  • Participate actively with UD Trucks Singapore management team
  • Manage salespersons’ activities (annual sales program, planning of promotional campaigns, review of reports, purchase orders, conversion rate, hit rate)
  • Verify and approve customer orders (technical and financial validation)
  • Organise team work for continuous development (quality, deadlines, prices, costs, health & safety), set targets, train, inform, communicate performance results, resolve difficulties through weekly meetings)
  • Optimise department organisation (sectors, market surveys)
  • Manage the team: recruitment, competence development, coaching, annual performance assessment meetings, proposals for promotion
  • Prepare and agree with senior management annual activity budget
  • Analyze monthly results and key performance indicators (volumes, market share) and prepare relevant action plans
  • Analyze team performance, both individual and joint, utilizing key performance indicators, (market knowledge, successes, failures…)
  • Communicate results and action plans to team and senior management on a regular basis.


Essential educational and/or training qualifications and certificates:

  • Diploma/Degree in Automotive Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or Diploma/Degree in Sales and Marketing
  • Formal training in leadership, communication and people skills


Preferred experience and knowledge:

  • Knowledge of market, industry trends & competitors
  • Strong Engineering background
  • 3 to 5 years working experience in Automotive sales and service Industry


Necessary Technical / Functional / Language skills:

  • Good communication skills, strong customer service-oriented attitude with flair for sales
  • Result oriented and team player
  • Motivated, positive and independent
  • Class 3 driving license
