Summary/Objective
The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical team, including Application Engineers, who assist customers in the effective use of our CAE solutions. You will drive the successful delivery of CAE-based simulation projects, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to business growth across the ASEAN region. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and strategic planning skills to achieve our company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical consultants, including Application Engineers, who provide technical support services to customers.
- Oversee the delivery of Ansys simulation solutions to clients, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
- Provide pre and post-sales technical support for Ansys software across various industries, including semiconductor & electronics, turbomachinery, oil & gas, marine & offshore, chemical processing, automotive, aerospace, and defense.
- Maintain close relationships with existing key accounts to ensure continuing contracts and services.
- Conduct technical presentations, provide software application support, conduct product training, and offer consultancy services.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to assist in lead generation, account management, and sales-related activities.
- Support pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proposal development.
- Manage client relationships, addressing technical queries, providing expert advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on the latest Ansys technologies, methodologies, and industry trends to drive technical excellence.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and cost optimization.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing or civil engineering, or related specialisation.
- At least 6 years of working experience, preferably in industries such as semiconductor, electronics, turbomachinery, oil & gas, chemical processing, marine/offshore, automotive, aerospace, or defense.
- Strong background in utilizing Ansys Mechanical and/or CFD, or comparable FEA/CFD simulation software.
- Industrial experience with FEA and/or CFD software is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Product Design, Manufacturing Processes, DOE/Optimization, Reduced Order Models, and FMEA is a plus.
- Proven track record in utilizing computer-aided engineering (CAE) solutions.
- Technically competent, sales-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and lead a team independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to different environments/platforms as necessary.
- Willingness to learn, possess own transport, and be prepared to travel.
