Core Responsibilities
- Manage the balance sheet and profit & loss statements
- Update the management information system (MIS) on a daily basis
- Supervise cash flow and perform bank reconciliations
- Prepare and promptly issue invoices and credit notes
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable and payments, ensuring the billing system is up to date
- Oversee, understand, and execute the complete accounting process from shipper invoicing/payment to customer invoicing/payments, including audits
- Coordinate with insurance companies for marine and cargo coverage
- Foster relationships with international team members, bankers, and traders
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Maritime, International Business, or International Trade
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Preferably familiar with accounting practices in the maritime industry
- Capable of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- A team player who is also able to work independently and is well-organized
- Keen attention to detail, a curious mindset, and a flexible approach
