RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive Growth of Undergraduate SMU-X Courses
- Lead initiatives to enhance and expand the portfolio of undergraduate SMU-X courses, ensuring alignment with SMU's academic goals and industry needs.
- Work closely with faculty to integrate real-world projects into course curricula, fostering experiential learning.
- Support Expansion of SMU-X Courses
- Collaborate with the Head of SMU-X to design and implement strategies for the growth of SMU-X courses at the postgraduate level as well as for adult learners.
- Identify opportunities for new course offerings that meet the evolving demands of postgraduate students, adult learners and industry partners.
- Partner Engagement and Development
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with partner organizations across the private, public, and people sectors to sponsor real-world projects.
- Work closely with faculty and industry partners to ensure that projects address critical business challenges and provide valuable learning experiences for students.
- Business Development and Partner Management
- Develop and implement strategies to manage existing partnerships and acquire new partners, enhancing the SMU-X network and offerings.
- Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements in collaboration with SMU's Legal Office, ensuring mutual benefits for SMU and its partners.
- Project Scoping and Coordination
- Facilitate the scoping and definition of projects between faculty and industry partners, ensuring that project objectives align with academic requirements and industry expectations.
- Provide ongoing support throughout project execution to ensure successful outcomes for all stakeholders.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including faculty, administrative staff, and external partners, to ensure the smooth delivery of SMU-X programmes.
- Offer partnership advice and support to ensure seamless integration of cross-departmental work functions.
- Representation and Advocacy
- Represent SMU-X at sharing sessions, recruiting events, information sessions, and client pitches.
- Advocate for SMU-X initiatives both within and outside of SMU, building the programmes' reputation and reach.
- Special Projects and Additional Duties
- Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as requested by the Head of SMU-X or other senior management, contributing to the overall success of SMU-X.
- A Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant professional level experience.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities with experience in academic programme development and partnership management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in business development and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse external partners.
- Knowledge of experiential learning methodologies and higher education trends is a plus.
