Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive playschool team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, especially those with special needs, and a commitment to providing a clean, safe, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Student Activities: Assist students during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and supported. Help with hands-on tasks, creative play, and educational exercises.
- Assist with Hygiene and Toileting: Provide support to children in using the bathroom, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained. Assist with diaper changes if necessary, and help children develop independence in toileting.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the play areas, classrooms, and restrooms are clean and well-organized. This includes cleaning up after activities, sanitizing toys, and maintaining a tidy learning environment.
- Rearrange and Organize: Set up and rearrange classroom spaces and play areas as needed to create an engaging and functional environment for students.
- Monitor and Supervise: Closely monitor children to ensure their safety at all times, especially during playtime, activities, and transitions between tasks.
- Provide Individualized Attention: Offer additional support to children who may need help with activities or adapting to the school environment.
- Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with lead teachers to implement lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and provide feedback on student progress.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a special education or inclusive setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring demeanor.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to lift and carry children if necessary and manage physical tasks associated with cleaning and rearranging spaces.
