To execute to achieve the highest standards for operational, financial and service quality in all the Inpatient Wards across the whole campus by ensuring operational and service efficiency from admission to discharge with optimal use of resources.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Report to the Manager, Inpatient Services and/or Manager, Bed Management Unit
· Responsible for key departmental and/or service performance areas, such as customer service, operational efficiency and excellence and resource utilisation. S/he is to ensure that patient flow smoothly, processes and services are well-connected and executed efficiently, and resources are used optimally.
· The scope of work includes mainly Bed Management Unit (BMU), involve in other areas of Inpatient Services and other assigned operational support functions.
(A) SPECIFIC
1. Responsible for daily patient flow activities: working with clinicians and care teams to ensure patients are admitted to the right wards, beds are allocated timely, patient transfers and discharges are done smoothly, and wards are converted efficiently.
2. Maintain key performance indicators and ensure optimum utilization of resources.
3. Identify service discrepancy and work on process improvement.
4. Train junior staff to rectify service lapses and develop alternative plans.
5. Ensure patient services are delivered in a pleasant and comfortable environment.
6. Work closely with doctors and other support departments on issues relating to workflows and patient services.
7. Support and coordinate where necessary complex cases of patient care-related operational processes and issues to ensure smooth handover and patient safety.
8. Work with stakeholders across departments to coordinate and streamline work processes to achieve operational efficiency and ensure smooth execution of works.
9. Prepare necessary approval / contractual documentation, together with key stakeholders, as part of project management.
10. Analyse trends and maintain the statistical database and capability to generate statistical reports for monitoring purposes.
11. Interpret data and analyse results using statistical methods and techniques
12. Develop, implement and maintain data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies to better optimise data efficiency, accuracy and quality
13. Provide ongoing reports
14. Identify, analyse and interpret data trends and patterns in complex and large datasets
15. Possess knowledge of data analysis and experience using data and statistical software for datasets analyses (such as Microsoft Excel)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
· Basic Degree
· Minimum 5 to 10 years at management level in healthcare related areas
· Knowledge of hospital operations will be preferred
· Experience in managing and motivating a team
· Possess strong leadership qualities, sound judgment and superior decision-making and problem-solving skills.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
(B) SPECIALISED TRAINING
· Master Degree in Business Administration
· Knowledge of computer software
· Knowledge of statistics
