We are a boutique CPE registered school offering classes to both mainstream children and children with developmental or academic challenges.
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Teacher / PE teacher where you'll inspire and empower students to reach their full potential.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as both a homeroom and PE teacher, conducting classroom teaching in an inclusive environment.
- Facilitate small group and one-on-one instructional sessions for students with learning difficulties.
- Collaborate with educators and specialists to design and implement Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Modify curriculum content, teaching strategies, and PE activities to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Deliver high-quality instruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students with disabilities.
- Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional methods as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive records of student performance, including IEP documentation.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Work closely with support staff and other specialists to ensure a coordinated and well-rounded educational experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a special education setting, preferably in a school environment.
- Experience in teaching PE in a school setting, with a focus on inclusive education.
- Proven ability to design and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate PE activities and programs.
- Knowledge of strategies for adapting PE activities to accommodate students with diverse abilities and needs.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children with learning difficulties.
- Extensive knowledge of various disabilities (e.g., ASD, GDD, CP, Down syndrome) and experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linking assessments to IEP development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
- Able to start short notice or for the academic year 2025
