COMPANY's BRIEF INTRODUCTION

NYK Group South Asia (NGSA) Pte. Ltd. was founded in 1983 and is a company based in Singapore as the Regional Management Office (“RMO”) for global shipping and logistics services. NGSA has strong presence in the South Asia and Oceania region to provide dynamic supports to the NYK group companies in the region.

We are currently recruiting an Manager to join NYK Group South Asia. The candidate must be an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual with real passion for the above segment, with experiences in project management, chartering, operation of dry bulk vessels. In addition, he or she needs to frequently use Japanese language to liaise with clients and related stakeholders. He or she should possess the ability equivalent to N1 of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test in listening, speaking, reading and writing complying with an established honorific language spoken among Japanese business persons.


JOB OUTLINE

Candidate is accountable to manage and control the technical and operational aspects of dry bulk fleet management & operation requirements with regards to dry bulk fleet activities through effective optimization efforts and safety management.

Candidate is also responsible to ensure that the daily business activities are in compliance with the NYK Group Credo and business policies. He or she reports to the Operation Manager and other management including General Manager and/or Deputy General Manager to carry out operation of dry bulk fleet activities. He or she must ensure timely and accurate response to customer's request and liaise with each stakeholder (internal/external) for smooth coordination for all transactions.

Minimum experience: at least 10 years in shipping company including 3 years in dry bulk fleet and proven leadership and management experience

Working days: Mondays to Fridays

Working hours: 8.30am – 5.30pm

Qualifications: Diploma / Degree in Finance and Accounting, Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations or relevant discipline

Salary: S$10,000 to S$19,000

Job duty office add: 1 Harbourfront Place, #14-01 Harbourfront Tower One, Singapore 098633, able to travel to related company’s offices in Singapore.


Your duties essential for the job:

· To assist and support Management to develop and implement company’s mid and long term plans.

· Forming appropriate fleet development plan (purchasing, chartering etc.) in order to correspond for expand of cargo volume in near future.

· Carrying out feasibility study for fleet development plan.

· To furnish company’s activities reports and financial information details to stakeholders corresponding to their requirements.

· Communicating clients to gather cargo information and future’s project plan

· Communicating vessel owner to acquire necessary space for client’s requirement.

· Gathering market information both vessel and cargo (iron ore, coal etc.) to make appropriate fleet development plan.

· Gathering and updating shipping regulations especially related to environmental issue

· Studying possibility of utilizing new fuel (LNG, ammonia etc.) to correspond for environmental issue

· Supporting other operation and chartering stuff to carry out smooth and safe operation


Basic requirements:

· Diploma / Degree in Finance and Accounting, Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations or relevant discipline

· 10 or more years’ carrier in shipping company with at least 3 years in dry bulk fleet.

· Strong understanding in NYK Group Mission Statement and Management Plan (Mid and Long Term)

· Strong experience & proficient knowledge in vessel operation, chartering, and project management.

· Good knowledge in financial field in order to collaborate with financial division when company carry out investment for the project.

· Excellent technical, analytical, negotiation and presentation skills.

· Good computer proficiency and literacy with regards to extensive use and application with spreadsheets, databases and presentation packages.

· Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese in order to communicate with counterpart companies, group companies and the Headquarter in Tokyo.

· Ability to travel globally as required.

· Positive attitude, resilience, cultural agility and adaptability

· A team player with transparent working manner and willing to take ownership of an opportunity and hands-on in every aspect of the job.

· Punctuality and good attendance is a MUST
