We currently serve shipowners within the Panamax Segment through a full range of services inclusive of spot earnings through Baumarine pool, medium period for charter and longer structured deals for 3 or 5 years. In 2020 we joined forces with major Japanese trading house Marubeni in operating the world’s largest dry bulk Panamax pool, and we have since continued to develop our model to become the home for shipowners in optimizing earnings and lifting the value of assets through co-investment while offering key analytics, machine learning and data insights to our partners.
We are looking for an energetic and entrepreneurial individual to develop, conclude and maintain steady relationships with Ship Owners throughout their journey with Klaveness Dry Bulk. We wish to challenge the status quo of the industry and want an individual that can combine current strength with vision to “improve the nature of shipping”
As Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in driving success for our ship-owning partners within the dry bulk segment. This individual will focus on enhancing physical earnings, advancing vessel improvement projects, and providing digital insights to optimize the performance and profitability of our clients' assets. The role requires a strategic thinker who can contribute to global initiatives while also developing regional partnerships, particularly within the Singapore market.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maximize Ship Owners' Success: Provide ship owners with the best opportunities for success by maximizing physical earnings, spearheading vessel improvement projects, and leveraging digital tools and insights.
- Pool Development: Develop and structure a strategic approach to attract and integrate new members into the Baumarine Pool, ensuring the growth and diversification of our pool offerings.
- Strategic Partnership Development: Contribute to the global strategic team with a particular focus on developing relationships with partners in Singapore and the surrounding region.
- Client Communication and Meetings: Maintain and enhance communication with existing counterparts on our earnings platform. Prepare for and follow up on pool and investor meetings, ensuring clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Strategic Innovation: Challenge the current earnings structures within the ship-owning sector and explore innovative approaches to optimize outcomes. Leverage the unique capabilities of our organization to deepen relationships with clients and provide them with a competitive edge.
Key Qualifications:
- Relevant Experience - Proven experience in the maritime and dry bulk shipping industry, with a strong understanding of commercial operations, earnings structures, and vessel management.
- Strategic Mindset - Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions that challenge the status quo.
- Relationship Management - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners, particularly within the Singapore region.
- Communication Skills - Excellent communication skills, with experience in preparing and leading discussions in decision makers and investor meetings.
- Team Contribution - Experience working within a global team and contributing to strategic initiatives on an international scale.
