The Reservation Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the reservation system to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests. This role involves overseeing the reservation process, coordinating with the front-of-house team, and addressing guest inquiries and concerns.
Role and responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all reservation requests via phone, email, and online platforms
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of reservations and cancellations
- Monitor reservation patterns and adjust seating arrangements to maximize table turnover and optimize guest satisfaction
- Provide personalized service to guests, addressing special requests, dietary needs, and any concerns or preferences and communicate details to staff to ensure a cohesive and informed service delivery
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, striving to resolve issues and enhance the overall guest experience
- Collaborate closely with the front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service and effective table management
- Generate and analyze reports on reservation trends, guest preferences, and table occupancy to inform operational decisions
- Train and mentor reservation staff to ensure adherence to service standards and procedures
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in guest service and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote special events, offers, and new menu items through reservation channels.
- Assist in implementing strategies to attract new guests and retain loyal customers.
- Assist service team with ensuring that the dining room is clean and well-presented at all times, with all tables set and ready for guests
- Able to perform other related duties in collaboration with the restaurant manager
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a reservation or front-of-house management role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- A friendly and professional demeanour, with the ability to remain calm and composed in a busy restaurant environment
- Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, split shift (5 days work-week)
