Cleaning Operations Manager

The Cleaning Operations Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of all cleaning operations within the organization. This role ensures that all cleaning activities meet company standards and client expectations, adhering to health and safety regulations. The manager will lead a team of cleaning staff, manage resources efficiently, and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management:Oversee daily cleaning operations across assigned locations, ensuring that all areas are cleaned to the required standards.
    Develop and implement cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure consistent and thorough cleaning practices.
    Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure quality control and identify areas for improvement.
    Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring that all necessary resources are available and properly maintained.
    Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure cleaning materials and equipment at the best possible prices.
  2. Team Management:Recruit, train, and supervise cleaning staff, ensuring they are skilled, motivated, and aware of health and safety protocols.
    Schedule staff shifts and allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands.
    Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the cleaning team.
    Address any staffing issues, including disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.
  3. Health, Safety, and Compliance:Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
    Develop and enforce safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
    Keep up-to-date with relevant regulations and ensure the cleaning team is informed and compliant.
    Manage waste disposal procedures in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  4. Client and Stakeholder Relations:Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding cleaning services, addressing any concerns or special requests promptly.
    Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    Provide regular reports to management and clients on cleaning operations, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
    Work closely with other departments to coordinate cleaning activities around events, maintenance, and other operations.
  5. Budget Management:Prepare and manage the budget for cleaning operations, ensuring that costs are controlled without compromising service quality.
    Track expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    Provide accurate financial reports to management on a regular basis.
  6. Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities to improve cleaning processes, efficiency, and effectiveness.
    Stay informed about the latest cleaning technologies, techniques, and industry trends.
    Implement new procedures and innovations to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Cleaning Operations Manager or in a similar role within the cleaning or facilities management industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to cleaning.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using cleaning management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A high level of attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Cleaning Management or Facilities Management.
  • Experience in managing cleaning operations in a large facility or multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of environmentally sustainable cleaning practices.

Working Conditions:

  • The role may involve working outside of regular business hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • The position may require frequent travel between different locations, depending on the size and scope of operations.
