Job Summary:
TOUCH Young Arrows (TYA) is a non-profit programme led by a committed team of volunteer mentors who conduct weekly Saturday programmes to meet children and youth's social, emotional, and educational needs, and to bring out the best of their potential. There are 25 TYA clubs in Singapore serving in total 500 underprivileged children and youth aged 5-14 years old from low-income and single-parent families.
You will be part of the Learning and Development team to make TYA an innovative and sustainable model of improving the social mobility of young persons in Singapore. You will play a vital role in helping children from disadvantaged families gain access to enrichment opportunities during the school holidays and experiences that activate and develop their potential, give them a sense of self-worth, and elevate their aspirations.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
Learning & Development
- Assess and select suitable, age-targeted quality enrichment camp or workshop providers in the areas of STEM/STEAM, Arts and Sports
- Implement enrichment programmes during June and December holidays
- Bookkeep and administrate as required, by monitoring budgets, scheduling and documenting programme functions, monitoring participation and payment invoicing
- Evaluate programme effectiveness and generate a post review report
Communications
- Liaise with enrichment vendors and provide timely and clear information of scheduled activities for parents’ registration of their children
- Liaise with transport vendors before and on the day of enrichment
- Support in stakeholder management by preparing regular updates to funder and internal team functions
- Conduct home visits to engage and encourage higher-risk families to consider the enrichment programmes for their children
Other
- Capture photos and/or videos of the entire project from planning, home visits to actual enrichment experiences
- Support any other related administration, coordination and documentation
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree holder
- At least 1 to 2 years of working experience with children, youth or families, or related experience with programme coordination
- Self-starter, able to contribute independently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adept at Microsoft Office
- Able to create posters/ flyers through Canva
Contract Duration:
- Available to work 9am – 6pm on Mon to Fri (Sat may occasionally be required)
- Till Dec 2024 (3 - 4 mths)
