Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust accounting software applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Implement accounting principles and practices, including cash and accrual accounting, average book costing, FIFO, and the treatment of financial instruments.
- Develop and maintain reconciliation tools for accounting modules.
- Leverage DevOps practices (e.g., GitHub, SourceTree, CI/CD) to streamline software development and deployment.
- Work independently and effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software development.
- Proficiency in Java, J2EE, and related frameworks.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with accounting methods such as average book costing and FIFO.
- Knowledge of the accounting treatment of financial instruments.
- Experience with reconciliation tools and processes.
- Familiarity with Java 8, Oracle, PL/SQL, and WebLogic server.
- Working knowledge of DevOps tools and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Crystal Report (reporting tool) and ctrlM (workload automation solution)
- Knowledge of JSP and JavaScript.
- Experience with JDBC and REST APIs
- Previous experience in a financial institution or accounting firm and financial accounting software tools.
