Spark has a vacancy for a Pre-school/Lower Primary/Upper Primary Teaching Specialist position in the teaching department. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the training and assessment of existing teaching staff in order to enhance the learning experience of the students.
It is expected of the officer to have an excellent track record of teaching Pre-school/Lower Primary/Upper Primary Mathematics and committed to providing high quality teacher training and assessment to existing teachers before lesson delivery. It is imperative for the officer to possess a specialised content knowledge of Preschool/Lower Primary/Upper Primary Mathematics to provide necessary feedback to the existing teachers.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate teachers’ pre-delivery lesson materials for training, feedback and assessment.
- Develop and utilize sound pedagogical practices to ensure that effective and innovative instruction methodology are employed in every lesson.
- Provide meaningful input to the relevant levels’ curriculum team and make recommendations to the courseware based on collaborations with the curriculum team and teachers.
- To build and maintain relationships with the relevant levels’ curriculum team and teaching team and collaborate effectively to design and deliver excellent lessons.
- Support the Teacher Development Manager in the design and implementation of teacher developmental metrics.
- Apply strategies to ensure that teachers’ teaching objectives is achieved through a variety of assessment tools, including tests, projects, assignments and other evaluation instruments.
- Takes a people-centred approach, providing teachers with suitable and meaningful feedback for them to increase teaching competencies prior to lesson delivery.
- Keeps abreast of development in the EdTech field by engaging in professional development activities.
- Develop an awareness of and respect for the customs and cultures of trainees, employers and colleagues.
- Participate in internal projects aimed at improving processes and increasing knowledge-sharing to improve work efficiencies, quality and lowering operational cost.
We would love for you to have:
- At least a Bachelors’ Degree in Education or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related field.
- At least 4 years of stellar teaching performance in teaching Primary Mathematics in a school or online setting.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin for cross borders communication and reporting.
- Meticulous and is able to perform prioritization of tasks.
- Able to work independently in a functional role, as well as part of a collaborative team.
