We are seeking a diligent and experienced Solar Safety Coordinator to join our
team of solar PV integration professionals. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for
developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs and procedures to
ensure a safe working environment for all personnel involved in our solar PV projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development: Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and protocols specific to solar PV installation and maintenance activities.
- Compliance: Ensure work sites are compliance with MOM’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and Code of Practices (CPs), including OSHA standards and industry best practices.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to identify potential hazards and implement risk control measures.
- Training: Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and site personnel to promote awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate work site accidents, injuries, dangerous occurrences and near misses; perform root causes analysis and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess safety performance, identify hazards, and ensure adherence to safety standards of subcontractors and site personnel.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and procedures for solar PV installations, including evacuation plans and first aid protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
- Promotion of Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture through communication, training, and recognition programs.
- Collaboration with Different Stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
Qualification:
- Possess minimum WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health and/or Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B).
- Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role in the construction or renewable energy industry, with specific experience in MAINLY Solar PV projects.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to solar PV installations.
- Professional certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety, First Aid/CPR, and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective safety solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with safety management systems/software.
