We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dangerous Goods Lead (Assistant Manager/Manager)to join our dynamic team at PIL. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and enforcing the group’s global policies, procedures, and guidelines concerning dangerous goods, ensuring compliance with international and statutory requirements while driving business development in this critical area.
Key Responsibilities:
· Define and enforce the Group’s dangerous goods policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring global compliance.
· Act as a catalyst for dangerous goods (DG) acceptance, optimizing processes to increase DG volume.
· Manage global team workload, staff engagement, and conduct performance evaluations.
· Identify underperforming agencies and organize targeted training on processes, documentation, and best booking practices.
· Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions for preventive measures.
MUST HAVE:
· Recognized degree, preferably in Maritime or Logistics, with at least 3 years of experience in Liner Shipping or equivalent industry experience.
· Strong leadership skills with experience in managing global teams.
· Familiarity with IMDG Code and proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Self-motivated with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
WE VALUE:
· Sales, Business Development, or Operations experience in the shipping industry.
· Advanced certification in dashboarding tools like Tableau or Power BI.
· Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
