Job Description – Chinese Mandarin Teacher
Chinese Teacher Role Purpose
The purpose of a Chinese teacher is to facilitate learning for students of Grade 6 to 12 by delivering engaging lessons in the Chinese language. The teacher will provide instruction in both written and spoken Chinese, as well as help students to develop their understanding of Chinese culture. In addition, the teacher will also assess student performance, adjust curriculum as necessary, and provide feedback and support to help students reach their goals.
Chinese Teacher Role
A Chinese Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to students in the Chinese language, as well as in the culture and history of China. Duties include planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of the students.
Chinese Teacher Duties
- Deliver lessons in accordance with the Cambridge ( Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE – Chinese as First Language/Chinese as Foreign Language) and IB Diploma – Chinese A and Chinese B) curriculum.
- Plan and prepare resources for lessons.
- Prepare progress report for Formative and Summative Assessments.
- Help to develop students' language skills.
· Develop and implement Mandarin Chinese language lesson plans that align with the curriculum standards.
· Provide engaging and interactive instruction to students of different proficiency levels.
· Assess and evaluate students’ language proficiency and provide feedback on progress.
· Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and cultural awareness.
· Collaborate with other teachers to integrate language learning with other subjects.
· Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
· Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
· Contribute to the development and improvement of the Mandarin Chinese language program.
