Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for Visiting Professor with special interest in Midwifery in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Purpose of the post
- To serve as an expert advisor to the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a whole.
- To assist the Division in developing new research programmes in relation to Midwifery, in collaboration with Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- To assist in developing research and development strategies onto an international platform.
- To assist in the development of the Department’s Antenatal Programme.
Main duties and responsibilities
- To provide guidance on new directions for research in the field of midwifery, in collaboration with the Department’s ongoing research efforts.
- Assist clinicians and researchers on formulating and developing research projects.
- Be involved in education sessions with the rest of the Department.
- Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications
The applicant should:
- Have a first degree with good results, a Master’s degrees, or hold a PhD in nursing / medicine or related disciplines; preferably with at least 5 to 10 years of experience in research;
- Have knowledge in medical research;
- Be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, and attention to detail;
- Have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS Office;
- Have substantial experience in the field of midwifery (if confidential, the nature of the research in general), and maternal fetal medicine.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
