Established in December 2000, our facilities serve individuals aged 18 to 55, offering both residential and day care services. Job Overview:
The Training Officer at Metta Home Day Activity Centre plays a crucial role in supporting clients with intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include ensuring their safety, hygiene, and development of daily living and social skills. The role involves continuous assessment, program implementation, record maintenance, and fostering positive relationships with clients and caregivers. The Training Officer collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality services aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety, hygiene, and cleanliness for clients.
- Plan, support, and implement approved programs and services.
- Assist clients in developing daily living and community skills.
- Support and train clients in pro-social and behavioral skills.
- Conduct continuous assessment and evaluation of clients' holistic development.
- Maintain accurate administrative records in compliance with Best Practice Guidelines.
- Record significant behaviors and critical incidents.
- Conduct routine checks on clients' well-being.
- Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers and maintain good rapport.
- Collaborate with caregivers to support clients' progress.
- Ensure volunteers contribute to organizational objectives.
- Participate actively in team activities to ensure quality service delivery.
- Recommend and implement new programs for clients' benefit.
- Plan and implement motivational and behavior management plans.
Other Responsibilities:
- Attend agency events and fundraising activities as required.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules, regulations, and protocols at all times.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Preferably experience in the Disability Care sector.
- Minimum Sec/ N/O levels and/or relevant certificates in disability care.
- Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Hardworking, meticulous, and responsible.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
