Job Description
We are seeking a Credit Specialist responsible for managing arrears and collateral in alignment with credit policies, handling collections, disputes, and policy exceptions, and preparing financial reports for management. The role involves driving digital transformation by streamlining processes, supporting system enhancements, and improving workflow efficiency. Strong communication, negotiation, and data management skills (Excel, Power BI) are essential, alongside experience in CRM systems and a proactive, resilient approach to learning and problem-solving.
Job Responsibilities:
Arrears Management and Policy Compliance
- Work as part of a team responsible for arrears management and collateral management in accordance with Credit policies, monitoring and reporting credit positions to mitigate financial exposure and improve cash flow.
- Responsibilities include, but not limited to, liaising with customers and various internal stakeholders on collection issues, dispute handling, analysing policy exceptions, negotiating collection plans, provision for bad debts.
- Maintain and monitor credit aging positions and bad debts are kept within acceptable levels.
- Prepare aging reports and analysis (e.g. customer financial health assessment) that supports management oversight and decision-making.
Digitalisation and Transformation
- Drive operational excellence through process streamlining and digitalisation.
- Understand process and system flows, identifying gaps and opportunities to support growth towards more efficient and intuitive workflows and data flows, with time efficiency gains as one of the targeted outcomes.
- Document and update business process maps for knowledge transfer.
- Support system enhancement projects, which may include developing user requirements and participating in user acceptance tests.
- Support the delivery and implementation of new products and BAU enhancements requested by the business (for finance/credit workflows).
Preferred Attributes
- Diploma in Business or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in credit control and debt collection
- Well-organised with a systematic thought process.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
