Job Summary: The Plating Engineering Expert is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the plating processes used in manufacturing. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining plating operations to ensure high quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. The Plating Engineering Expert will work closely with other engineering teams, production staff, and quality assurance to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Development and Optimization:
- Develop and optimize plating processes for various materials and products.
- Monitor and analyze plating operations to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance plating efficiency and quality.
2. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all plating processes meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve any plating-related issues.
3. Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to production teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the plating process.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in plating techniques and best practices.
4. Project Management:
- Lead and manage plating-related projects from conception to completion.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met.
- Prepare and present project reports and updates to management.
5. Environmental and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all plating operations comply with environmental and safety regulations.
- Implement and maintain safety procedures to protect employees and the environment.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for potential hazards.
6. Cost Management:
- Monitor and control costs associated with plating operations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Prepare and manage budgets for plating projects and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in plating engineering or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of plating processes, materials, and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., CAD, simulation software).
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to plating.
- Project management experience is a plus.
