Our Client is a well-established entity in brokerage industry, and is one of the largest full-service ship and yacht broking firms globally, with a rich history of over 150 years in maritime services. With expertise in all major shipping segments—Tanker, Dry Bulk, Chemical, LNG, LPG, Offshore, Liner, and Yachting.
Job Purpose:
The Maritime Analyst is responsible for executing research on shipments and determining the divergences of the freight, fulfil any research related enquiries the Brokers may have or request for and other ad-hoc tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
Maritime Analyst
- Stay informed on key market indicators such as the Baltic Index, fuel costs, and insurance expenses to ensure accurate market insights.
- Conduct and deliver comprehensive analysis on Market Supply & Demand, utilizing collected data to inform decision-making.
- Maintain, update, and enhance the Freight Matrix for distribution to clients, ensuring they have the most current and accurate information.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of various models and innovative products related to international trade and shipping demand.
- Support senior team members in creating impactful presentations for key clients, playing a vital role in client engagement.
- Providing general assistance to the Dry Market Analysis team and brokers with a variety of ad-hoc analytical requests.
Job Requirement:
- Diploma / Degree in the Maritime Business,Data Science or equivalent
- Preferably min 2 years working experience in the Shipping / Analysis field
- Capable of staying composed and delivering results under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Excellent client management/relationship building skills
- Excellent communication and outspoken
- Computer literacy (Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Able to work independently
