Job Purpose
The primary objective of this function is to work with Wealth Advisors (both in SG and as required in Head Office) as well as Relationship Managers (both in SG as well as head office) on advisory needs of clients relating to secured Lombard Lending solutions including premium financing. This function is the key liaison point between business requirements (as expressed by clients, relationship managers and advisors) and the bank’s risk function (both in SG and as required in the head office).
In addition, being part of a small team that is scaling up on business growth, the Investment Finance Specialist will have the opportunity to be part of a wide variety of wealth management projects and initiatives wider than just investment finance (e.g. to developing capital markets, managed funds and alternative investment solutions for clients)
Job Description
The Investment Finance specialist will be required to prepare detailed credit applications based on client requests and support credit structuring needs as well as lead the enhancement of the bank’s credit-related product offerings.
The IF specialist will be expected to obtain all relevant facts/information and thereafter prepare the credit application in accordance with the bank’s Policy guidelines justifying the recommendation of the credit. Key activities to be conducted include
Help drive Investment Finance income (Net Interest income) and cause a collateral benefit to Net Fee Income by enabling calibrated leveraged investment solutions to be offered
- Prepare detailed credit applications in line with policy guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with Bank guidelines and all statutory requirements stipulated by the UAE Central Bank and any other local authority (SG).
- Review and analyse renewal of credit facilities as per the approval held and ensure that there is no attrition in credit quality.
- Conduct risk assessments, prepare credit proposals recommendation for approval, and provide ongoing support to the frontline teams in managing clients’ credit facilities
- Stay updated on market trends and regulatory changes to recommend improvements in credit process, and products.
- Collaborate with the head office and the front office team to enhance credit related product, ensuring alignment with market needs and regulatory requirement.
- Liaise with other departments such as SIN RISK and Group Credit Department on all matters affecting credit approvals
- Contribute to the wider development of the WM proposition of the SG branch including actively engaging product development and platform build initiatives wider than IF
Job Requirements
• At least 6-7 years in banking with advanced understanding of Credit risk and related analysis and prior experience managing Lombard Lending facilities.
•Good understanding of the Wealth Management industry and associated products including capital market flow and structured products, OTC derivatives, managed fund solutions, DPM solutions, Alternative investments, etc.
•Experience in providing advisory service related to credit risk and product development
•Good collaborative and interpersonal skills.
