COMPANY's BRIEF INTRODUCTION
NYK Bulkship (Asia) Pte. Ltd. was established in 1975 and is a subsidiary company under NYK Group, wholly-owned by NYK Line Tokyo, Japan. Main activity is to operate vessels of international trade for tankers and dry bulk, as well as to develop businesses around energy logistics including LNG, dry bulk, and Next generation fuels. We also provide shipping and sales services related to NYK Line.
We are currently recruiting a Manager to join our Dry Bulk Division. The candidate must be an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual with real passion for the above segment, and possess experience in subsidiary company management, sales, S&P, chartering and operations in shipping companies.
The candidate is required to be bilingual in both English and Japanese language, with a proficiency level equivalent to N1 of the Japanese proficiency test in listening, speaking, reading and writing to communicate with Japanese clients and Tokyo HQ.
JOB OUTLINE
Candidate is also responsible to ensure that the daily business activities are in compliance with the NYK Group Credo and business policies. He/she reports to the General Manager and carry out co-leading functions of the division. He/she must ensure timely and accurate response to customer's request and liaise with each stakeholder (internal/external) for smooth coordination for all transactions.

Minimum experience: 7 years in shipping industries including;
· minimum 3-4 years in dry bulk shipping.
· experience in sales, customer relationship, S&P, chartering and vessel operations.
Working days: Mondays to Fridays, and Saturdays and Sundays if travelling is required.
Working hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm
Qualifications: Diploma / Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, Social Science, International Relations or relevant discipline
Salary: S$9,000 to S$18,000 depending on experience

Your duties essential for the job:
· Responsible for sales/chartering/profit & loss for vessels owned/chartered by NYK Bulkship (Asia) Pte. Ltd.
· To represent NYK Group’s Dry Bulk Division and manage/establish good business relationships with its existing and new clients in Singapore and Asia/Oceania region.
· Engage with external and internal stakeholders and coordinate each project as the project manager.
· Manage and encourage NYK Group’s local staff in countries in Asia/Oceania region and cooperate with them in achieving the missions.
· Collect intelligence relating to energy policies and situations in Asia/Oceania region, and report to relevant stakeholders, including NYK Group’s management/managers and NYK Line Tokyo HQ.
· Any other duties related to this role.
Basic requirements:
· Strong experience & knowledge in, sales, customer relationship, S&P, chartering and vessel operations.
· Experience in ship financing and cashflow analysis.
· Basic knowledge of accounting.
· Ability to travel worldwide where necessary.
· Bilingual in both English and Japanese to liaise with Japanese speaking customers and associates.
· Experience in managing and leading a team in business.
· Attentive to details.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
· Positive attitude and ability to work under stress.
· A team player with transparent working manner and willing to take ownership of an opportunity and hands on every aspect of the job.
