LOVE, NILS is a Singapore-registered IPC charity; our mission is to provide support to children with cancer and their caregivers to enable them to thrive. We help support these children and their families with much-needed healthcare guidance, emotional care, plus social and community support as they navigate the trauma of childhood cancer.
Objective: To manage financial policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and records in accordance with governance requirements.
Reports to: Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all financial workflow and processes in line with IPC regulation
- Oversee the routine generation of timely and accurate internal and external financial reports, including monthly and annual financial statements
- Provide financial analyses, reports and forecasts to management
- Advise management in financial decision-making and systems development and improvement
- Oversee the accuracy of the organizational accounting records and maintain the chart of accounts
- Monitor security of organization’s financial assets
- Manage month-end closings and bank reconciliations
- Support the annual budget and forecasting preparation process
- Manage the employee expense reports review process
- Direct completion of the annual financial audit and internal audit
- Work with the Finance and Investment Committee to review different investment techniques and implement strategies
- Ensure the safety of the organisation’s funds, earning maximum returns and giving ED and Board timely advice to keep up with the market trends
- Contact point for external relationships with financial partners such as auditors, bankers, etc.
- Responsible for advising on internal controls and risk matters, and proactively recommend continuous improvement for efficient finance and commercial processes
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Finance, Accountancy or equivalent
- ACCA/CPA Singapore/CA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance role with strong experience in Accounts Payable, internal controls, policy development and implementation as well as process improvements
- Well versed in IPC governance, financial compliance, auditing and financial reporting
- Experience with Donor Management System a plus but not required
- Familiar with accounting software (we use Xero)
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Able to interact well and enjoy communicating with people across all levels and cultures
