Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trading Assistant to join our dynamic team at Modular Asset Management. In this role, you will support the trading desk by executing trades, monitoring financial markets, and managing the trade lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring strong quantitative analysis skills, financial acumen, and technical proficiency to our trading operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute trades accurately under the direction of senior traders, adhering to established trading strategies.
- Monitor global financial markets and prepare detailed reports on market trends to guide trading decisions.
- Accurately book and confirm trades in our internal risk management system.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations team to manage the full trade lifecycle.
- Work with IT and Operations teams to continuously enhance trading processes and systems.
- Assist in managing counterparty relationships and corresponding management information systems (MIS).
Technical Skills:
- Quantitative Analysis: Strong ability to analyze market data, financial reports, and economic indicators to support informed trading decisions.
- Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial instruments, market mechanics, trading strategies, and risk management principles.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with trading platforms such as Bloomberg Terminal and data analysis software like Microsoft Excel VBA, SQL, or Python.
Soft Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous and proactive in identifying and addressing small errors that could lead to significant financial losses.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to traders, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Able to quickly adjust to changing market conditions and work environments, maintaining effectiveness under pressure.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively with others, aligning trading activities with broader organizational goals.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience or training.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade support, operations or middle office roles within investment banking or investment management.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and various financial products, with cross-asset class experience (FI, FX, Rates) preferred.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Excel VBA, SQL, or Python.
- Expertise in trading platforms and tools, including Bloomberg Terminal.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with a proactive attitude and strong multitasking abilities.
