Conference Director (Web3/Crypto/Blockchain)
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Conference Director to lead the planning, execution, and management of high-profile conferences in the Web3, crypto, and blockchain space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, investment, or hack conferences, and a proven track record of successfully leading conference teams, managing budgets, and delivering exceptional events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and inspire a cross-functional team to execute all aspects of the conference, ensuring seamless collaboration between departments.
- Event Planning & Execution: Oversee the end-to-end planning and execution of conferences, including scheduling, logistics, and on-site management.
- Supplier & Vendor Management: Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery within budget.
- Sponsorship & Sales Management: Develop strategies for securing and managing sponsorships, including liaising with outsourced sales and marketing teams. Manage key accounts to ensure sponsors' expectations are met.
- Content & Speaker Coordination: Collaborate with industry leaders, speakers, and panelists to create compelling content and secure top-tier speakers for the conferences.
- Budget & Time Management: Develop and manage the conference budget, ensuring all expenses are within the allocated budget. Manage timelines and project milestones to ensure timely delivery of the event.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including sponsors, speakers, attendees, and internal teams.
- Market Research & Strategy Development: Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to develop innovative strategies for conference topics, formats, and marketing.
- Multilingual Communication: Utilize Mandarin language skills to manage communications and business needs with stakeholders from China and other Mandarin-speaking regions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in conference management, preferably in the finance, investment, or technology sectors.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of Web3, crypto, and blockchain industries.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with strong organizational and delegation skills.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
- Time & Budget Management: Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and deliver projects on time.
- Networking: Extensive network within the finance, investment, or crypto communities is a plus.
