Job Summary

• Establish, build-out and lead the Chapter Area (CA) for Analytics & MI within Finance & Treasury. Responsible for ensuring high quality deliveries in Analytics & MI across Finance & Treasury
• Partner with the Business lead for Analytics to develop and execute on the vision for the Analytics chapter area (CA) for Finance & Treasury, together with the other CAs and Engineering Leads
• Actively be aware of advancements in tooling and approaches around Analytics, MI, AI, stay connected with the industry community, contributing to and drawing in on best practices and tooling
• Establish a strong working relationship with Software product vendors to drive product enhancements through an effective feedback loop
• Collaboration with Sub-domains, product management and other cross functional teams is crucial to ensure Analytics alignment with business objectives
• Ensure full data and architecture alignment with TSA on adoption of tools and usage patterns
• Actively contribute to and engage with other Analytics Expertise Areas and Chapter Areas across Functions and other CIO domains, to strengthen the capability across the organisation


Technical Responsibilities
• From a technology standpoint, drive the Analytics strategy, tools selection, and implementation for a future-ready technology stack, to achieve outcomes of highly scalable, efficient, robust and resilient Analytics capabilities and systems
• Works to drive technology convergence and simplification across their expertise areas, in complete alignment to Enterprise Architecture policies and standards
• Play a key role in risk management, compliance and contributing to the culture of quality excellence throughout Finance & Treasury
• Provide thought leadership on the craft, inspire and retain talents by developing and nurturing an extensive internal and external network of practitioners
• This role is around capability building, it is not to own applications or delivery, but to contribute to the outcomes
• Oversees the execution of Technical standards and best practices
• Effectively manage the segregation of responsibilities across Business and Technology roles to ensure SDLC controls are adhered to
• Create fungibility of technical skills within the team and operate an efficient and agile chapter area


Key Responsibilities

Strategy
• As an evangelist and practitioner, contribute to the definition of Analytics strategy and capabilities across the Bank
• Drive adoption and transformations of standard practices in Finance & Treasury
• Build out a strong client centric mindset within the team and lead the move to transform the Bank into a fully Agile software development organisation
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies such as AI and innovation to improve client experience for Analytics and MI
• Prepare the chapter area to be future-ready, upskilling and cross-skilling the teams on the emerging technologies and newer tools


Business
• Work with business to define and strengthen the Analytics strategy and capability for Finance & Treasury, establish an effective feedback loop to drive customer focused KPIs
• Dedicate time to understand business demand and requirements for Analytics, influence behaviour to drop old ways and adopt emerging modern approaches to Analytics and MI
• Lead inputs to investment planning/prioritisation with the businesses and TTO
• Develop relevant understanding of the business processes, to be able to influence towards an efficient and effective Analytics approaches


People & Talent
• Attract, employ, develop and retain high quality people such to establish the Analytics Chapter Area, and ensure that the team is skilled and experienced to deliver efficiently and effectively, towards a fully Agile development organisation, and promote team diversity across technical capability, background, gender and race
• Accountable for people management and capability development of their Chapter Area members
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
• Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks
• Ensure that the organisation works in a proactive way to upgrade capacity well in advance and predict future capacity needs
• Ensure succession planning is in place for critical roles
• Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives
• Create a motivational and challenging environment for staff which is conducive to creativity and performance with customer centricity in mind
• Reviews metrics on capabilities and performance across all the Chapters in their area, has improvement backlog for their Chapters and drives continual improvement of Chapters
• Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability end to end in the subdomain while promoting a “business-first” mentality at all levels


Skills and Experience

Risk Management
• Responsible for effective capacity risk management across the Chapter Area with regards to attrition and leave plans
• Proactive in seeking regular assurance that the Domain performing to an acceptable risk and control standard
• Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees
• As required, act as the risk control owner under the Group’s risk management framework at the appropriate level
• Include all necessary internal, legal and regulatory controls through the development of the Segment’s Product requirements
• Balance business performance delivery and cost management constraints with risk and control matters to ensure that they do not materially threaten the Group’s ability to remain within risk appetite
• Ensure that the organisation works in a proactive way to upgrade capacity well in advance and predict future capacity needs

Our Ideal Candidate

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 15+ years of experience in software development, system administration, or a related technical field
• Experienced Analytics practitioner with strong leadership ability managing Analytics and MI as a Chapter or a transversal function
• Experience in transforming legacy MI practices adopting innovative and modern tooling and strategies, following through with successful implementation
• Experience in global diverse organisation in building overall capability and technical expertise
• Experience in industry bench marking for technical skills on Analytics
• Ability to articulate the overall vision for the Chapters and ensure upskilling of the organisation holistically
• Experience in identifying skill gaps and mitigate risks to deliverables
• Technical skills to include SAP Analytics tools (SAC, Datasphere, BTP), MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerBI, DataIku, Exasol and other tools that are established as Enterprise standard tools
• Good working experience on Data models, ETL and Analytics/reporting schemas and tools
• Good understanding and working experience in Cloud technologies and architecture
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
• Prior experience with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines is a plus
