We are looking for a Start-up Engineer to join our FPSO Pre-Operations team. This role will report to Start-up Manager, and also Offshore Installation Manager (during offshore phase).
Key Responsibilities
- Create, review and execute plans, schedules and procedures for the safe and efficient start-up of a complex offshore oil & gas facility.
- Integrate and interact with Construction, Commissioning and Operations teams to ensure smooth and thorough handover of systems and equipment.
- Provide oversight for the maintenance and preservation of systems handed over to Operations prior to Practical Completion.
- Work closely with Operations to achieve early production targets, while respecting various relevant regulatory commitments.
- Participate in formal reviews and workshops required for a safe and efficient start-up.
- Provide technical support in conjunction with Engineering team for troubleshooting technical issues encountered during Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up phases.
- Manage Client interfaces relevant to Start-up and Operations, particularly relevant to the operation of Subsea equipment.
- Manage schedule and workload for support from Vendor representatives, relevant to start-up.
- Work within the shipyard and offshore permitting systems to execute tasks, as required.
- Provide on-site assistance for onshore Engineering Support team in the offshore phase.
- Create and steward engineering changes adhering to formal Management of Change process.
- Support the activities required to achieve efficient and timely Practical Completion for the project.
- Collect data and generate reports required to achieve project milestones.
- Provide oversight to early operations in maintain and optimize production and availability.
Qualifications
- A master’s or bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline, most likely Process, Mechanical or Instrument/Control.
- At least 10+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical industry, ideally with a minimum of 3+ years in the FPSO sector and a solid understanding Hull/Marine and Topsides design.
- Project experience working in the Construction, Commissioning and Start-up phases is preferred, including familiarity with typical completions processes.
- Experience working in an offshore environment will be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with classification society requirements and international (Australian) offshore regulations.

Please note this is a 12 months contract position.
