Job Description
The successful candidate will work with Dr. Yushu Chen on in vitro reconstitution of fatty acid transport across biological membranes under a project on “Elucidating the molecular mechanism of fatty acid uptake in mycobacteria and its role in pathogenesis”.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
a. Conducting wet-lab research with BSL-1/2 organisms. The work will involve using 14C radioisotope, a low energy β emitter.
b. Data analysis and paper writing with the principal investigator.
c. Handling lab procurement of reagents and consumables.
Qualifications / Discipline:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any biology related field.
Skills:
- Basic research skills in microbiology, genetics or biochemistry.
- Prior experience with cryo-EM or liposomes is a plus.
Experience:
- Should have at least one year experience in wet-lab research.
