Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven manager / senior manager to lead and manage human capital and people-focused conferences and events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event management, with a particular focus on the HR / People industry. This role is responsible for conceptualising, planning, and executing high-impact conferences and events that educate and engage participants and drive significant revenue growth. The manager / senior manager will work closely with sponsors, speakers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the success of each event.
Key Responsibilities:
Conference Planning & Management
- Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and management of conferences / events.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and maximising profitability.
- Coordinate with vendors, venues, and suppliers to ensure high-quality event production.
- Manage event logistics, including registration, attendee management, and on-site coordination.
- Oversee post-event follow-up, including feedback collection, data analysis, and reporting.
Revenue Generation:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive conferences / events revenue through sponsorships, ticket sales, and partnerships.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential sponsors and partners in the relevant industry.
- Create and present sponsorship proposals that align with client objectives and event goals.
- Monitor and analyse revenue performance, adjusting strategies as needed to meet financial targets.
Content & Speaker Management:
- Work closely with the content team to design relevant and compelling conference agendas that address key HR or People trends and challenges.
- Identify and secure high-calibre speakers and thought leaders from the relevant industries.
- Manage speaker relationships, including contract negotiation, travel arrangements, and on-site coordination.
Marketing & Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns to drive attendance and awareness.
- Utilise social media, email marketing, and other channels to maximize event visibility and reach.
- Analyse marketing campaign performance and adjust tactics to optimize results.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all conference-related inquiries and communications.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in conference or event management, preferably within the HR industry.
- Strong track record of driving revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, and ticket sales.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of the HR industry and current trends is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in event management software and tools.
